Miik Martorell

Miik Martorell is a Cuban-American, printing company owner of nearly 20 years and Billboard Magazine Reporting Nightclub DJ of 25 years. A native of Miami, Florida, Miik has dedicated his skills and resources to local LGBT+ organizations for over 2 decades. As President of Pride Fort Lauderdale since 2016, Miik has spent the last 4 years traveling to and volunteering at 68 Pride organizations in the US, South America and the Caribbean learning valuable skills and understanding what Pride means to communities around the world.

His Pride tours have recently earned him the Unity Coalition / Coalicion Unida 2020 Humanitarian Award.Having been diagnosed with HIV at 18 years old, in 1990, Miik learned how precious life was and strongly believes in a world where we all learn to love and respect each other and celebrate the diversity that we bring to the world. Miik feels fortunate to be thriving with HIV for over 30 years, and believes that we should all be grateful for everyday that we’re given and shows his gratitude through volunteerism.

Miik has served as Co-Chair of the InterPride Fund Development Committee and currently serves as a member of both the Governance and Methods and Standards Committees. Locally, he has served on the Board of Directors for Greater FortLauderdale LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
