Matthew Hedges is a former British Ambassador, a Leadership Fellow at St George’s House, Windsor, and a diversity and inclusion champion. He has led culturally diverse teams in Asia, North Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and Latin America. He has over 30,000 Twitter followers.
As British Ambassador to Paraguay, and that country’s first openly gay ambassador, Matthew gave LGBTQI+ issues a profile that they had struggled to attain before. He was the first ambassador of any country to speak at a Pride event there and to give media interviews on these issues.
Matthew is from the valleys of south Wales and has degrees from Oxford and Princeton universities. He is passionate about social mobility, and about ensuring that the inclusion we celebrate at Pride is a meaningful, long-term commitment not just an annual event.
