Gregory Adkins

Victoria’s Anti-Violence Project (1997) executive director (co-founder 1997), he helped establish the Victorian Pride Lobby. An LGBTI Priority Community Reference Group (VicPol) member, he received a Command Commendation (Community Encounters, 2017) and serves on the Family Violence Royal Commission LGBTI reference group. Greg is a Labor Party life member, worked in state and federal governments advising on local government, specialist child and family services and elder Victorians. An Ironman triathlete, he edited a national triathlon magazine. He was councillor and mayor (Ringwood 1992/1993).

He worked at VAC (health educator, public sex environments), South East Centre Against Sexual Assault (counsellor-advocate), Inner South Community Health (now Star Health) establishing & Hustling to Health; then was a disability services senior manager and more recently at Travellers Aid. Board tenures included Family Planning Victoria, Sexual Health and Family Planning Australia (later CEO) and JOY Melbourne (co-hosted/produced JOY travel show).
